Cold work steels

The requirements for cold work applications are increasing ongoing. Today, many tools – especially due to the ever-increasing cost pressure – significantly higher life expected than a few years ago. Accordingly the requirements for tool steels are increasing – especially for cold work steels. Voestalpine BÖHLER Edelstahl offers a wide range of tailor-made products as well as the know-how required for the application in the application consulting. Depending on the customer’s requirements and requirements profile, we have different possibilities for the production of BÖHLER TOP grades with the following designations are available:
ISODUR – Cold work tool steel / in remelted quality
MICROCLEAN – Cold work tool steel / powder metallurgically manufactured
ECOSTAR – Cold work tool steel / in conventional quality

In order to compare the steels from our portfolio with regard to their application-related suitability, the Böhler cold work tool steels were divided into 3 groups
