BÖHLER N717
This specification covers a premium aircraft-quality corrosion-resistant steel in the form of bars, wire, forgings in the solution heat treated condition and stock of any size for forging.
It is a martensitic precipitation hardenable chromium-nickel-molydenum-aluminium steel possessing high strength and toughness.
These products have been used typically for parts requiring corrosion resistance and a combination of high strength and high toughness up to 800 °F (427 °C) but usage is not limited to such applications.
Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking.
