BÖHLER hot work tool steels for the forging process

Forged pieces are used whenever the requirements for the mechanical properties of certain components are high. Naturally, compliance with these properties will only be able to be fulfilled by high strength materials; materials which in turn require the appropriate wear resistant tool steels during the deformation process in order to be able to meet those diverse requirements.
We at BÖHLER know these requirements well and offer you custom-made hot work tool steel for your commercial needs.

High performance steels for the punching and blanking industry

The demands on forming-, cutting-, punching- and blanking tools are ever increasing.

The reason for making the decision to use quality tool materials is obvious, as the material amount of a high performance tool is often only 5% of the total value of a tool, yet it increases tool service life many times over.  In a word, it‘s a direct commercial advantage in production.

BÖHLER M303 EXTRA

The new classic

BÖHLER M303 EXTRA is a stainless martensitic chromium steel, offering excellent toughness, corrosion and wear resistance. It is characterized by improved machinability and polishability.

And what is special about it –  BÖHLER M303 EXTRA was developed  for improved homogeneity ensuring  excellent usage properties. And the  outcome is – compared to 1.2316 –  the prevention of delta ferrite in  the matrix.

Cold work tool steels

Turn your ideas into reality –
together we’ll achieve your goals.

We would like to be your first port of call when it comes to optimizing your competitiveness and value-chain, and in reaching joint goals.
Whoever claims to be an expert partner in the blanking and forming industries must set demanding standards for his work.
All production stages, from melting, forming and processing, right through to quality control are under a single management, so that the steel and tool used, and ultimately you and we, can provide the performance expected of us.

BÖHLER RAPID BHT

BÖHLER RAPID BHT is our latest development, High Speed Steel in bars (B), hardened (H) and tempered (T) execution.
BÖHLER RAPID BHT is recommended for special cutting tools, middle and low series, with complex geometries.
BÖHLER RAPID BHT is always useful for cold work tools, whenever tools are required with short delivery times.

BÖHLER W360 ISOBLOC

Hot work tool steel with high hardness and good toughness

BÖHLER W360 ISOBLOC was developed as a tool steel for dies and punches in warm and hot forging.  With a hardness range in use from 52 to a maximum of 57 HRc and good toughness throughout this hardness range, the steel can be used for a variety of applications where hardness and toughness are required.

BÖHLER Plastic mould steels

Due to extensive experience, innovative Research and Development and intensive cooperation with companies in the plastic processing industry, BÖHLER is in a position to deliver the right steel to meet the exact chemical and mechanical properties required.

BÖHLER N360 ISOEXTRA

The realisation of innovative technical achievements requires corresponding materials:

BÖHLER N360 ISOEXTRA is a corrosion resistant, martensitic stainless steel, produced using the P-ESR-process. Compared to conventionally produced Cr and CrMo steels BÖHLER N360 ISOEXTRA offers improved corrosion resistance and toughness properties as well as high hardness and compressive strength.

BÖHLER K390 MICROCLEAN

Business is getting harder - so is our steel

BÖHLER K390 MICROCLEAN is quite simply the powder metallurgical cold work tool steel with the best properties for cold work applications available from BÖHLER at the moment.
K390 MICROCLEAN was developed to meet the demanding wear resistance and compressive strength requirements of cutting, blanking and punching applications, for cold forming applications and for parts which are subjected to abrasive wear in plastics processing.

BÖHLER M315 EXTRA

Hardened and tempered corrosion resistant mould frame / bolster steel

BÖHLER M315 EXTRA is a corrosion resistant mould frame / bolster steel with a significantly improved machinability compared to 1.2085 steels.

BÖHLER S290 MICROCLEAN

The tough alternative to solid carbides.
Especially for high-performance cutting tools.

High speed steel produced by powder-metallurgical methods with:
excellent hot hardness, excellent wear resistance, excellent compressive strength and very high hardness (up to 70 HRc).
The BÖHLER PM-technology of the 3rd generation imparts to the material also very good toughness and machinability, e.g. highly satisfactory grindability.
