In the middle of March we received notification from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection (BMASK) that our training program Safety & Health had been nominated for the Austrian State Prize for Occupational Safety 2011. This Austrian State Prize is awarded every two years.
We submitted the numerous instructional activities carried out as a part of short-time work and educational leave from 2009 to 2010.
Rating the projects submitted was a task for the jury made up of representatives from the social partners, the accident insurance branch, science facilities and the labour inspection institutes. However, our project was not among those receiving awards.

Yet the nomination itself places us among the most successful and innovative companies in Austria where health and safety are concerned. We were honoured along with eight further nominees by Federal Minister Hundstorfer on 21 June 2011 at the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection.
