High Speed Steels

Print

The cutting edge:
BÖHLER high speed steels are used for machine tools such as drills, hobs and broaching tools and in some cold forming applications. The properties required here are wear resistance, hot hardness and toughness which prevents shelling of cutting edges. This guarantees high tool life, low maintenance and down times, and ensures a reproducible production process. Our high performance powder metallurgical high speed steels are a speciality.
They are the mainstay in this demanding market segment.

BÖHLER high performance special steels: a cut above the rest.

BÖHLER S500 - For hobs, twist drills, taps, broaching tools and cold work tools.
BÖHLER S600 -Classic grade for machine tools of simple geometry.
BÖHLER S705 - For hobs, twist drills, taps, wood working tools and cold work tools.
Powder metallurgical high speed steels
BÖHLER S290 - The tough alternative to carbide tooling.
BÖHLER S390 - The universal PM high speed steel with the best properties.
BÖHLER S590 - The universal PM high speed steel with improved grindability.

BÖHLER S690 - The tough high speed steel for demanding machining and cold forming applications.

BÖHLER S790 - High speed steel produced by powdermetallurgy methods with good red hardness, compressive strength and wear resistance. The PM technology imparts to the material also excellent toughness and machinability properties, e.g. highly satisfactory grindability.
